FAQ

Post-Launch Funding

  • What is post-launch funding (PLF)?

CMN and AGTrust financially partner with church planters through the Post-Launch Fund to maximize the health and growth of churches in their first five years of operation.

    • Eligible churches are any church that has been planted within five years of requesting post-launch funding.
    • Applicants must attend CMN Launch training.
    • Applicants must complete the PLF application with CMN.
    • Applicant must be an Assemblies of God credentialed minister and lead an officially chartered Assemblies of God USA church.

  • Do I need to be a Matching Fund Church to qualify for post-launch funding?

No. Post-launch funding is available to any church that meets the general requirements stated above.

  • Do I need a Primary Partner for this process?

No. The Primary Partner is only needed for recipients of the Matching Fund. Post-launch funds will be dispersed directly to the church applying for funding.

  • When I submit my application for post-launch funding, how long should I expect it to take before I find out if I am approved or not?

CMN strives to keep the turn-around time on all applications as short as possible. The timeline for each application is based on when an application is received, when the approval process is completed, and when funding is available. Post-launch funding is not a guarantee, and you should not make financial commitments based on funds that may be awarded.

  • Are post-launch funds a type of loan or grant?

Post-launch funds are not considered a grant because the ongoing dispersal of funds to future recipients depends on the replenishment of the money awarded to you.

Post-launch funding is also not a loan. Your monthly financial replenishments have no interest attached and are based on the monthly income of your church. To qualify for post-launch funding, you commit to giving 10% of your undesignated tithes and offerings each month back to AGTrust until your total is replenished. The money given is paid forward into the Church Multiplication Network (CMN) Post-Launch Fund and used to invest in future church plants.

  • Do I have to pay back the post-launch funds I receive?

By receiving these funds, the church agrees to give ten percent (10%) to the Church Multiplication Network from the undesignated income received by the new church every month.

For example, if your income in January is $5,000, you are agreeing to give $500 toward your post-launch fund replenishment. If your income in January is $10,000, you are agreeing to give $1,000 toward your replenishment. Therefore, the amount you give to the post-launch fund is dependent upon the amount of undesignated income received by the church every month.

This agreement will continue until the amount that you have paid forward into the CMN Replenishment is equal to the original amount invested that CMN awarded you. When this is complete, an additional commitment to give a minimum of one percent (1%) of all undesignated income every month to CMN applies.

  • After I finish replenishing my post-launch funds, what’s next?

When the post-launch funding amount is paid forward in full, the church agrees to continue to give a minimum of one percent (1%) of all its undesignated income each month to CMN in order to support other church plants. The one percent (1%) commitment will remain in effect in perpetuity. Churches that give the one percent are called CMN Champion Churches.

QUALIFICATIONS TO RECEIVE POST-LAUNCH FUNDS:

New church plants are eligible to apply for Post-Launch Funds during the post-launch phase of the church planting project. This means approval for Post-Launch Fund disbursement must be obtained within the first five years of the launch of public services.

CMN’s ability to award Matching Funds is dependent upon several factors:

(1) The lead planter must submit a completed application with all corresponding documents.

(2) CMN Director Approval

(3) AG Trust Team Approval

(4) AG Executive Leadership Team Approval

  • General Qualifications

    • Lead planter has Assemblies of God credentials in good standing.

    • The church plant must recognized as an Assemblies of God church.

    • Lead planter must complete a nationally certified church planter assessment.

    • Lead planter (and spouse, if applicable) has completed CMN Launch Training or a district training that has been approved by CMN.

    • The church plant must submit a proposal letter outlining how the funds will be used to support the growth and sustainability of their ministry.

  • Disbursement Requirements

    • A signed Memorandum of Understanding between the lead planter and CMN.

  • Replenishment Terms

    • The church plant is expected to replenish monthly by paying forward 10% of undesignated tithes and offerings. The average Post-Launch Fund is paid forward within two to three years.

    • Once the original investment has been replenished in the Post-Launch Fund, the church will agree to continue to invest one percent (1%) of their annual income in perpetuity to the CMN Champion Church Fund.
